The career activism goes beyond just finding positions online. You have to be a lot more proactive with your job search than just find online postings.

I also agree with this idea. 50% of your input should be presentation. It is a bit harder when you're a foreigner though. At least, that's my experience.

I'm Dutch and when I'm looking for a job, I'm bound to online job websites, and obviously it's harder to give yourself a good image solely by trying to get hired online like on www.monster.com
Usually smaller website are a bit more personal, like this one I found: www.searchjobsabroad.com/International-jobs

However, it's still hard to be a career activist online.

I agree with the idea of career activism. Planning your career for the future rainy days is not actually a habit of many people but it is quite effective.

I think personal branding is a trend nowadays which is in itself efficient enough in marketing yourself to future employers.
